Grant Applications

Resurrection Furniture (RF) welcomes grant applications from organisations and groups within Alton and the surrounding areas.

The criteria in applying for a grant are that ideally:

  • You are a charity or formally constituted organisation

  • You have been in existence for at least one year

  • You have a bank account, constitution, registered address and organising committee

We also welcome grant applications from within our team of volunteers for causes that, for one reason or another, are close to their hearts.

Applications will be considered at the next scheduled trustee meeting, although the trustees will try to take an agile approach and endeavour to consider urgent requests at other times.

Grants will be considered that fall within the following categories:


Easing financial hardship 

These are projects that help individuals in need; financially, materially and emotionally.

Some of the ways RF have provided support are through:

  • Provision of furniture at a discount/no cost to families on benefits or those being rehoused through domestic abuse

  • Christians Against Poverty debt relief service

  • Alton College youth food bank


Youth work 

These are projects that support young people, specifically their education in accordance with Christian principles, their support, training and counselling and life skills

Some of the organisations RF have supported are:

  • Andrews Endowed School

  • Parish of the Resurrection

  • The Kings Arms

  • St. Lawrence School


Supporting and caring for the local community

These are projects that improve the health, welfare, arts and social interaction, that reduce isolation and discrimination. 

Some of the organisations RF have supported are:

  • The Pink Place

  • Knitted Knockers

  • Alton Arts festival

  • Cardiac Rehab

  • Dogs for Autism

  • St Michaels Hospice

  • Dementia Friendly Alton


Caring for the environment 

These are projects that encourage repair, reuse, recycling and reduce waste, and to support local measures to respond to the climate emergency, to adapt to climate change and encourage behavioural change.

Some of the organisations RF have supported are:

  • Alton Climate Action Network

  • SustainaBites sustainable eating

 

Helping people overcome barriers to employment

These are projects that support those who’s education, physical and mental health, current circumstances and finances act as a barrier to them finding permanent employment. 

Some of the ways RF have provided support are through:

  • offering volunteering opportunities in RF

  • offering work experience placements in RF
